Apple Distinguished Schools

BSMS earned recognition as an Apple Distinguished School by developing a shared vision for learning centered on student engagement, creativity, and authentic application. Through the use of iPads in the classroom, teachers transformed learning experiences so students could create, communicate, collaborate, and solve problems in meaningful ways.

Rather than using technology simply to deliver information, BSMS focused on designing instruction that encouraged active learning and critical thinking. This work was supported through ongoing coaching, professional learning, and collaboration among staff. As these practices became consistent across the building, BSMS developed a culture where innovation, student voice, and purposeful learning are woven into everyday classroom experiences.

Being recognized as an Apple Distinguished School has helped Bermudian Springs Middle School strengthen its culture of innovation, creativity, and student-centered learning. Students have more opportunities to demonstrate understanding through writing, video, audio, design, research, collaboration, and reflection while developing responsible digital habits.

Staff have also benefited by exploring new ways to make learning more exciting, challenging, and meaningful through technology integration and resources from the Apple Education Community. This recognition has reinforced our shared commitment to using technology with purpose to support meaningful learning experiences for all students.

Bermudian Springs Middle School built capacity by creating a culture where staff feel supported to try new ideas, take instructional risks, and collaborate with one another. Rather than relying on one-time training, we focused on ongoing professional learning that helped teachers build confidence using technology to enhance instruction and student learning.

Through in-person workshops, digital playgrounds, coaching, and small-group sharing sessions, staff members had opportunities to explore tools, learn from one another, and see practical examples of technology integration in action. Teachers shared success stories, classroom strategies, and student work, which helped spread effective practices across the building.
